Leadership Consulting & Speaking Engagements
Kate offers consulting and speaking engagements for departments, agencies, and organizations ready to face the truth about their culture—and change it.
With lived experience in the first responder world and years of systems-level leadership, Kate helps teams stop the cycle of silent suffering by fixing what’s actually broken—not just what looks good on paper.
She works with leadership to:
Identify failure points in communication, trust, and psychological safety
Assess leadership blind spots that are fueling burnout and emotional shutdown
Develop trauma-informed policies that support real mental health—not just legal coverage
Train command staff on how to lead without retraumatizing their people
Build systems of care that are career-protective, culturally competent, and actually used
Speaking Topics Include:
The impact of first responder life on the entire family system
The invisible emotional labor of partners and support roles
How toxic leadership becomes trauma
Talking to admin about how their culture is breaking their people
Building brands, systems, and support structures that don’t prey on pain
Creating mental health care that’s strong, not soft
How to change culture in male-dominated systems—from the inside out
Kate’s not coming in to say what sounds good. She’s there to say what’s real—and offer tools that actually work.
Kate is the Founder and Executive Director of Inner Circle Mental Health. She leads the organization’s strategy, growth, and day-to-day operations—overseeing everything from brand integrity to financial management to leadership development. If it moves the mission forward, it crosses her desk.
Kate’s work is deeply personal—but not in the way most people expect. For nearly 14 years, she lived inside the realities of first responder life—married to an Army veteran and former police officer, raising three kids while navigating the unspoken impacts of trauma. It wasn’t romantic. It was isolating, exhausting, and often invisible. That experience didn’t just show her the cracks in the system—it showed her where to build something better.
Today, she leads a growing team committed to changing how mental health care shows up for people who protect others. She doesn’t sit with clients—she builds the infrastructure that makes this work possible. That includes leading partnerships, mapping future programs, and developing trauma-informed training through Inner Circle Institute.
Outside of work, Kate resets through movement and time in nature. She lived in Hawai’i during her family’s Army years, and one day hopes to make it to Alaska—her dream destination for unplugged quiet and wild beauty. Her favorite quote is “The Man in the Arena,” which doubles as her leadership style: do the work, take the hits, stay in it.
