  • I always wanted to help people but what really turned me towards counseling was experiencing it actually work for me and those I cared about. Being able to walk alongside people through their struggles and see the resilience through adversity is so humbling and rewarding.

  • I view therapy as a collaborative process with the client being the expert in themselves. My role is to help challenge and reflect so that they can better assess what is holding them back from living their lives more authentically.

  • While I can’t technically “specialize” as a Licensed Professional Counselor, my niche interests would be working with trauma survivors and first responders and their families.

  • While working with first responders and veterans I hold space for the fact that they are a different breed. (And I say that with all the love and kindness.)  But truthfully to be able to do the work asked of you in these types of professions there is a certain level of compartmentalization and coping in crisis that has to be there and is reinforced. This doesn’t always translate well into “normal” life and if not handled appropriately can cause inter- and intrapersonal issues.

  • It’s ok to not be ok. No one can handle all the things all the time - including you. It is not “weak” to allow people to help or lean on others.

  • I am pretty straightforward and genuine. I also don’t claim to know all the things all the time, but what I do know is that I’m here- ready to listen, meet you where you are, and figure out a game-plan to get you to where you want to be. I also have lived experience of being married to a firefighter and can appreciate the expectations and stressors that can place on a person and family system.
